Energy Saving Campaign
June 22, 2010
Say No To Tissue
We always encourage our students to realize that surroundings in our life will bring effects to our global warming. Simple things like using the tissue also can cause the global warming. Tissue is made by pulp. Pulp comes from bar of acacia and eucalyptus tree processed chemically. To make the tissue, they will clear cut ancient forest. Its impact, the wide of natural forest is on the wane replaced with the produce forest for tissue. Throughout the world, ancient forests are in crisis. Many of the plants and animals that live in these forests face extinction. And many of the people and cultures that depend on ancient forests for their way of life are also under threat. Ten million hectares (25 million acres) of ancient forest are being cleared or destroyed every year around the world. That's an area the size of a soccer field lost every two seconds. So, let’s together use the handkerchief or other alternative to save our Earth and it is also more economical! Let us say NO to tissue!June 21, 2010
Our Green Zone
Planting trees is one of the easiest way to reduce our carbon footprint to become neutral. All of us in SJK(C) Pei Chai really support the trees planting program. We work together as a community in school to preserve our green area. These efforts really meant a lot to us, show our responsibility to save the Earth. Planting trees in school is one of the best things you can do for the local environment and for the planet. Trees are like the lungs of the planet. They breathe in carbon dioxide and breathe out oxygen.Plant a seed and you will see,
you will see, you will see,
Plant a seed and you will see,
What a beautiful world it can be.

Global Warming
What is global warming?
Global warming is when the earth heats up (the temperature rises). It happens when greenhouse gases (carbon dioxide, water vapor, nitrous oxide, and methane) trap heat and light from the sun in the earth’s atmosphere, which increases the temperature. This hurts many people, animals, and plants. Many cannot take the change, so they die.
What causes global warming?
Many things cause global warming. One thing that causes global warming is electrical pollution. Electricity causes pollution in many ways, some worse than others. In most cases, fossil fuels are burned to create electricity. Fossil fuels are made of dead plants and animals. Some examples of fossil fuels are oil and petroleum. Many pollutants (chemicals that pollute the air, water, and land) are sent into the air when fossil fuels are burned. Some of these chemicals are called greenhouse gasses.
We use these sources of energy much more than the sources that give off less pollution. Petroleum, one of the sources of energy, is used a lot. It is used for transportation, making electricity, and making many other things. Although this source of energy gives off a lot of pollution, it is used for 38% of the United States’ energy.
Love The Earth
We strongly support this programme to create awareness among students to love, to care our environment and the Earth. We
